Do you have a knack for computing numbers and figuring out how much of a profit you made? Are you interested in sports and do you frequently follow the fads in the gaming industry? If your answer to both questions is yes, then you should try to apply for an accounting job in the sports business.

One of the positions that you can get into is that of an accountant. Your work will require you to prepare a complete report of all the financial statements of your sports organisation, following the principles and standards of accounting and that of the gaming industry. Another job is that of the auditor, who is in charge of checking how the company handles their business from the internal system, and determines if they are observing the proper processes and rules in all their financial transactions. You will have to be adept in using software and other tools and in identifying any glitches in the program and any discrepancies in the records.

You can also become a tax accountant, and your job will involve filing and processing the duties of your sports organisation. You will have to be knowledgeable of the policies and procedures for tax deductions and exemptions of your government with regards to sports companies. Another profession that you can enter into is that of a financial analyst. Being one, you will be responsible for assessing the profitability ratio, segment performance, and industry trends of a ticket sales company or team. For example, you can identify that your professional softball team is the highest earning sports group in your organisation based on their advertising revenues, ticket sales, and sponsorship deals.
